Simply plug it into a free USB 2.0 port, and the handy stick transforms netbook, laptop and desktop computers into a full-function television with full HDTV support (including Dolby Digital)* and many additional features. Software for Windows and Mac computers allows operation on all household computers, extensive accessories with a remote control and DVB-T antenna are included in the shipping package. Additionally, digitalisation of VHS cassettes is easy via the analogue inputs.

Digitalise VHS cassettes easily
The TerraTec H5 also has inputs for analogue video and audio signals (S-Video, Composite, Stereo Audio) via which you can import analogue videos from camcorders and video recorders onto your computer. Back up your old VHS cassettes and get ready for the digital future!

Software for Mac and Windows PC
Software developed in Germany for Windows PC (TerraTec Home Cinema) and Mac (Elgato EyeTV Lite) allow the TerraTec H5 to be used everywhere. Both are simple to use, but are also full of options for optimal configuration to your needs. Time-shifted television, manual and scheduled recording in lossless quality on hard disk, electronic programme guide (EPG) and teletext plus many other interesting functions deliver a fully new television experience. Whenever you wish you can, for instance, quickly and effortlessly switch between a Windows system in the office and a mobile MacBook.

Full compatibility for versatile use
The TerraTec H5 runs on Windows XP (from Service Pack 2) and Windows Vista (from Service Pack 1) as well as on Mac from Version OSX 10.4. Additionally, there are drivers for the Windows Media Center Edition (MCE) and active support in the Linux community (no TerraTec support).

The DVB-T coverage area in Europe is growing continuously
The digital terrestrial (DVB-T) age has already begun for millions of viewers in Europe. Analogue terrestrial TV has been replaced by the new Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial (DVB-T) standard in almost all population centres. The last gaps will be closed in the foreseeable future. DVB-C: digital quality from the cable network
At the moment, cable television is still one of the most frequently used methods to distribute a television signal into households in Germany. Cable television is generally provided by network operators for a fee. Other than the TerraTec H5, no other equipment is necessary to receive the normally higher quality DVB-C, the handy TV stick replaces the normally used settop box and digital receiver. However, encoded programmes cannot yet be received, the system must firstly be equipped with a Common Interface (CI) as well as a Conditional Access Module (CAM) so that a paid-for smart card can be used.

Everything you need to start enjoying the world of television on your computer is included in the shipping package. Additionally, there are printed manuals (German, English, French and Italian) as well as further languages on a DVD. 36 months warranty and lifelong technical support round off the package.
